Do the Sandero hatch and Sandero Stepway share the same floor mats?
Front mats yes - both share the CMF-B front footwell with the same fixing hooks. Rear liners are also cross-compatible in shape, but the Stepway sits ~40 mm higher so the rear sill lip is slightly taller; a rear liner cut for the hatch clears the Stepway sill but does not wrap up it.
Can I fit the previous-generation Sandero’s mats to a 2020-onwards car?
No. The pre-2020 Sandero (Mk2) used a different footwell shape and single fixing point. The Mk3 has moved to a pair of hooks aligned with the Clio’s, so buy Mk3-specific mats from any brand.
Are Dacia’s own rubber mats worth it?
They are cheap, correctly-fixed and shaped to the Mk3 exactly - hard to beat for winter use. Aftermarket TPE mats (Gledring, Rezaw-Plast) sit slightly deeper at the edges if you want to contain more slush.
Do Essential-trim cars have anything unusual to look for?
Essential lacks the reversing camera housing recess and has fewer under-seat wiring covers, so any mat with cut-outs designed for higher-trim wiring runs will still fit but leaves small unused notches. Standard-shape mats work best.
One thing many buyers miss
The Sandero (not Stepway) has a completely bare roof and a very simple cabin - which sometimes leads buyers to assume Dacia used a generic Renault Clio interior, and to order Clio mats. Do not. The floor pan is shared with the Clio but the driver-side fixing pitch differs by a few millimetres and Clio mats sit unclipped.
How to check before ordering
- Check whether your car is Sandero hatch or Stepway - the trim badge on the tailgate confirms it.
- Confirm the listing calls out “2020-onwards” or “Mk3” - not just “Sandero”.
- If you use rubber mats in winter, look for a set with a raised outer edge of at least 15 mm to contain melt water.
