The Kona was completely redesigned in 2023 (SX2 generation). Unusually for a small SUV, the current generation was designed EV-first and the Kona Electric shares its floor pan and boot volume with the petrol and hybrid versions.
Five things to know before you buy floor mats for the Hyundai Kona

Kona Electric mats match ICE Kona mats. Both are on the same EV-first platform. The EV loses no boot volume vs the ICE and the front and rear footwells are identical, so a single Kona SX2 mat set fits all powertrains.

First-generation Kona mats do not fit. The 2017-2023 OS Kona used a shorter wheelbase and different retention pattern. Any listing must say “2023-onwards” or “SX2”.

N Line trims share mats with Advance. The N Line adds body-coloured cladding and a deeper front lip, but the footwell is unchanged.

The rear liner should account for a bench-mounted centre console. Higher trims add rear USB-C ports on the back of the front centre console; a rear liner that wraps up too high blocks passenger access to the ports.

Frunk on the EV is a separate accessory. The 27 L front trunk is unique to Kona Electric. It takes its own moulded liner and is not part of a cabin mat set.

Are Hyundai’s own carpet mats worth it for winter?
Not for UK winter driving. The carpet mats are colour-matched and hook correctly, but they absorb salt water rather than channelling it. A TPE liner (Gledring, Rezaw-Plast) has deeper edges and lifts out for hosing.
Do the SX2 Kona mats fit the Kia Niro?
No. The Niro sits on the K3 platform and has a different footwell layout despite the similar B-segment SUV footprint.
