The ID.4 (2020-onwards) had a substantial MY24 refresh that swapped the launch 10-inch touchscreen for a much larger 12.9-inch display. That changes adhesive-mount placement zones - the larger screen dominates the natural top-of-dash area on refresh cars, pushing adhesive mount placement to the vents or the lower centre stack. Pre-refresh cars have more empty dash beside the screen.

Both pre- and post-refresh use capacitive touch pads on the steering wheel. Pre-2024 pads are unlit and easy to trigger accidentally. Steering-wheel-clip phone accessories that press against the wheel spoke can fire cruise or media commands unexpectedly - buy a rim-clamp design rather than a spoke-press one.

Vent slats are horizontal on the centre vents. Universal vent clips must be horizontal-slat-compatible. Factory wireless charging is standard on Pro Match and above; a MagSafe or Qi-coil vent mount is a common combination for owners who want the phone visible while charging.

Frequently asked questions

Are pre- and post-MY24 refresh ID.4 mounts interchangeable?

Vent clips yes. Adhesive placement differs because the screen size changed - a mount placed on top of the dash on a pre-refresh car may not fit as cleanly on post-refresh.

Does 4Motion (dual-motor) change the dashboard?

No. The second motor is over the front axle; the interior is unchanged.
