What roof type does the Suzuki Vitara have?

Factory roof rails on sz-t and up; bare roof on sz4. That single fact decides which fitting kit fits, and it is usually the first filter on any Thule/Yakima/Menabo online configurator.

What are dynamic and static loads?

Dynamic is the maximum load the rack can carry while driving (usually 50 to 75 kg on passenger cars); static is the parked figure (much higher) and matters for roof tents. Both are capped by the Suzuki Vitara’s own roof-load rating from the handbook.

Do aero bars really cut wind noise?

Yes - above 60 mph, aero bars whistle noticeably less than round or square bars and cost a fraction less at the pump when empty. If the Suzuki Vitara is a daily motorway car, aero earn their keep.

Do I need a locking rack?

Yes. Locking towers cost only a few pounds more and stop a rack (with kayaks, boxes or bikes on top) walking off a supermarket car park.

One thing many buyers miss

The Suzuki Vitara’s own roof-load rating (in the handbook) is a hard cap. A rack rated at 75 kg dynamic is meaningless if the Suzuki Vitara’s roof is rated at 60 kg - the vehicle rating wins. Check both figures and pick the lower one as your working limit.
