Five things to know before you buy floor mats for the Toyota RAV4

Hybrid and PHEV share the cabin floor. The PHEV loses ~60 L of boot to its battery and raises the loading floor by ~40 mm, but the passenger footwells are the same as the standard hybrid. Front and rear mats fit both powertrains.

The MY24 refresh did not change mat fit. The 2024 update touched infotainment and trim only; the fifth-generation XA50 floor pan continues from 2019.

Fourth-generation (XA40) mats do not fit. The XA50 uses a completely different footwell layout. Any listing must say “2019-onwards” or “XA50” or “5th generation”.

All UK trims from Design up are 4WD. Icon front-wheel drive is the exception. That does not affect mat fit but is a common surprise on used purchases.

The reclining rear bench is trim-dependent. Excel and above recline; entry Icon does not. Rear liner fit is unaffected because the recline is a seatback adjustment, not a seat base slide.

Do the RAV4 and RAV4 Prime share floor mats?
The RAV4 Prime is not sold in the UK - the closest local equivalent is the RAV4 PHEV, which shares the cabin floor with the hybrid. Any RAV4 XA50 mat set fits.
Are Toyota’s OE all-weather mats good enough?
Toyota’s own rubber over-mats are inexpensive and clip correctly to the two-post pattern. They are shallower than aftermarket TPE liners; for regular winter driving on salted roads, a TPE set is a step up.
