Five things to know before you buy seat covers for the Toyota Yaris Cross

  1. 2WD and AWD-i share seat covers. The AWD-i loses boot volume to the rear motor but the passenger seats are identical. Any Yaris Cross-specific cover set fits either drive.

  2. Yaris covers do not fit. The Yaris Cross uses taller, wider front seats than the standard Yaris despite the shared GA-B platform. Cover fit is completely different.

  3. Every trim has front-seat side airbags. Icon, Design, Excel, GR Sport and Premiere Edition all have side-impact airbags in the outer bolsters. Airbag-compatible cover seams are mandatory.

  4. Higher trims have 40/20/40 rear split. Excel and up split 40/20/40 with a centre pass-through; entry Icon is 60/40. Rear cover sets cut for one split do not fit the other.

  5. GR Sport seats have deeper bolsters. Universal covers pinch on GR Sport; buy trim-specific. Icon, Design and Excel accept universal cleanly.
